What is a DSE Assessment - The Hear UP

Overview

VDU Risk Assessments, also known as Display Screen Equipment Risk Assessments (DSE) are a legal requirement under the “2007 General Application Regulations”. The VDU/DSE risk assessment can be completed online or in person.

It is a legal requirement that the employer provides a VDU/DSE assessment on all computer workstations, where an employee will be spending longer than 1hr per day at the said workstation.

The purpose of the VDU/DSE assessment is to:

Reduce workplace injury

Comply with H&S legislation

Provide employee’s with the correct equipment

Duration

Each assessment can take on average between 30-40min per employee, this is dependant on individuals needs. Once the assessment is completed the employer and the employee will be provided with a copy of the report.
